Zahra is a student at Barnard College, Columbia University, majoring in neuroscience with a minor in science & public policy. Her research interests lie within developmental neuroscience, including examining environmental influences on transgenerational health, characterizing the long-term neural consequences of adverse early-life experiences, and understanding neurobiological changes during the perinatal period. She is passionate about using science to inform policy and advancing neglected areas of women's health through neuroscientific research.
In her free time, Zahra enjoys going on food crawls, tinkering on GarageBand, and volunteering at her local community garden.
