Dianne hails from Portmore, Jamaica, and immigrated to South Florida in 2017. She received her BA in Neuroscience from Hamilton College in 2022, where she worked on projects related to stress and reward in Dr. Siobhan Robinson’s lab. Coming from a country like Jamaica, where its colonial history still very much contributes to generational trauma and where there is still so much mysticism surrounding mental illness and its treatment, she is happy to join the Marlin Lab as a Research Staff Assistant. She hopes that joining the lab’s work on transgenerational epigenetics will help further erase the cone of silence surrounding these issues and answer fundamental questions about the contributors to neuropsychiatric disorders. Outside of the lab, she enjoys trying new foods, a good TV show, making playlists, seeing live shows, going to museums, and trying everything at least once!
