Catherine is a native New Yorker who graduated from Barnard College in 2023 with a degree in Neuroscience and Behavior. For her senior thesis, she investigated hypothalamic mechanisms underlying stress reactivity during adolescence. Following graduation, she worked as a research technician at Weill Cornell Medicine, where she studied the role of serotonin circuits in reward and aversion and later examined hippocampal dynamics during learning and memory. Now a PhD student in the Marlin Lab, Catherine is interested in understanding how stressful experiences change the brain and how these effects may be transmitted across generations. Outside the lab, Catherine enjoys trying new restaurants and taking long walks in the park with her dog, Biscuit. She is also passionate about community outreach and increasing public access to science.
