Camaria was raised in New Orleans and is currently an undergraduate student at Barnard College, Columbia University. Throughout her life, Camaria has been fascinated by why people develop into their unique human self, always questioning how one’s experiences shape their cognition, behavior, and identity. Experiences that challenged her own memory curated this curiosity, developing her passion for neuroscience and psychiatry.
Prior to joining the lab, Camaria gained a foundation in behavioral and systems neuroscience and is applying these skills to answer questions in the Marlin lab about the molecular basis of heritable phenotypes induced by olfactory fear conditioning.
Outside the lab, Camaria loves playing video games (ask her about The Witcher series!), rapping & interpretive dancing to her favorite songs, or playing “mouse” with her cat, Poppy.
