Ashley was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and is currently an undergraduate student at Barnard College of Columbia University. During her high school years, she worked at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, where she conducted oncology research. Previously, she worked in the Glendinning Lab, studying the glucose-specific taste pathway in IP3R3KO and B6 mice. Ashley is majoring in Biology and is particularly interested in the intersections of biological processes in neuroscience. To that end, she is currently studying the epigenetic effects of taste aversion in the Marlin Lab. Outside of the laboratory, Ashley serves as the Vice President of Girl Gains Columbia, a wellness and weightlifting club on campus open to female-identifying students. She enjoys writing poetry, spending time with animals, and hiking. Academically, Ashley aspires to pursue her aspirations of becoming a doctor and working in the medical industry or academia.
